[She isn't surprised when Dodger suddenly appears at the foot of her bed.]
Hey. [Enis shifts and moves so that her back is resting against the far wall.] Sit. [She gestures to the end of the bed as she takes a swig from the bottle. Living in the dorms means that she doesn't have glasses readily available but they've shared fluids worse than spit so she assumes that he won't mind.]
Here.
[She passes him the bottle, suddenly thankful that their the only ones currently at the dorms.]
[He takes the bottle and slides onto the bed in a single motion, before adjusting himself to sit more comfortably. For a moment he just swirls the bottle and watches the liquid inside, before downing just under a quarter of it. It's like drinking the nectar of the gods, after being cut off from anything stronger than wine.]
Holy fuck. [He gasps, before passing it back to her with a mild laugh.] This and a couple joints could make a night.
Drugs don't affect me so I have never understood the allure.
[She takes the bottle of whiskey back and takes a healthy swig though not as much as he'd inhaled. Enis also keeps it in her lap for a little while so she can take a few more sips before it's gone.]
[That's a third date idea out the window. Some less than kind part of his brain itches with curiosity, but he pushes it down.]
I did, sure. About me and Stevenson, yeah? We met a couple months back, through work. Don't know where my boss finds people, but I sorta handle the, ah, HR and training for new folks. Make sure they're ready for the sort of work we do. Far as I'm concerned, Stevenson's still in training.
[He'd slipped up with Jason around and called him by his first name, but without him around he wants it clear that they aren't friends. It's for his pride, mostly.]
[It isn't that drugs don't effect Enis but it takes an awful lot. It's the same way with alcohol which is why she can probably drink Dodger under the table despite being so small.]
Not to my knowledge but I don't have much experience with anything besides medical treatments. [Which she carefully composes herself.
Enis takes another sip of the whiskey and then another.] You are in HR? [That almost makes her laugh.]
[He raises a brow slightly, but he guesses most hiring managers don't have scars running across their faces.]
Security, mostly. My boss runs a pretty big weapons production company, always needs people to make sure shipments are moving through unhindered. [His hand wanders boldly over her thigh, before swiping the bottle back to take a swig. It's tamer, but he still drinks too quickly to savor it.] Stevenson isn't much for muscle but he's got some wicked powers. There's some potential there if someone cracks him open.
[Enis slides towards him so that her legs are straddling Dodger on either side of the bed. She lightly places her hand on his chest and then lowers her voice to a sultry whisper.] I will crack you open if you finish all my whiskey. [And she swipes the bottle back from him.] This is the only bottle I have.
[She doesn't really mind if he does but she enjoys being argumentative when she can get away with it and it's easy where Dodger is concerned.]
That's confidential. I don't reveal employee information without a proper payment.
[Which is, you know, obviously digging for a bribe.
While she's drinking he pulls out a cigarette, lighting it with the snap of his fingers. He takes a long pull before offering it to Enis, smoke seeping from his lips as he speaks.]
Sufficed to say, humans can't keep up in our industry. Not without a lot of modifications.
[She counters as she watches the flame flick from the tips of his fingers.] But if I was to bribe you. What would you want? [Enis places the bottle of whiskey between her thighs, noticing that there is maybe a fourth of the liquor left, and takes the cigarette. It doesn't affect her but the scent of smoke is interesting as it rolls along her tongue.]
Are you implying that I am human?
[She might have been... once... but she isn't anymore.]

And if he tells you anything, I'll kick his ass.
[He probably won't. He goes too soft on that kid.
His gaze follows the bottle down between her legs, and he cocks a brow as his eyes snap back to hers. Really, she has absolutely no right to be so attractive. His hand lingers a bit too long in her lap before he takes the bottle back, finishing it off and accenting with a silent burp. Classy.]
And you're implying you're not. [He looks her over with a calculating gaze, but it's really more of an excuse to stare at her body a while longer.] So, what are you then?
Date/Time: 7/22/19 01:38 am (UTC)Posted by:blindpuppet
Noted.
[Enis knows that from an outside perspective she is attractive. It's something she'd learned when she was still her fathers prisoner but she isn't sure she knows what that means. It holds some value in social situations but that is all she can see as a benefit of her appearance.
Her brow furrows when he finishes the last of her whiskey.] Your guess is as good as mine. [She has no idea what her father had done to her because that data is lost.
She rests her wrist on her knee, the cigarette lightly pinched between her thumb and forefinger.]
Tell me. [Her tone softens slightly as demand is replaced by curiosity.] What do you think?
Date/Time: 7/22/19 10:23 am (UTC)Posted by:smokedout
[He leans down to set the bottle down on the floor, and takes a moment to consider. So far he knows that she isn't bound by the same limits that humans are as far as self-harm, but he's seen the mentally ill do just as much damage. There's no reason to assume she's a mutant, but she's right - she isn't quite human either.]
I think you're fascinating. [Which is a neutral comment, coming from him.] And I think you're holding that smoke wrong.
[She rolls her eyes and holds the cigarette out for him to take.]
I can't say I've had someone teach me how to hold something that's on fire. [Dodger himself not withstanding.
Enis pauses, her vibrant blue eyes inspecting Dodger curiously.] You aren't a fan of complete thought are you? [It really annoys her that she can't guess what's going on in his head. He doesn't think like a normal person because he's fucking insane and it's constantly keeping Enis on her toes.]
Date/Time: 7/23/19 01:38 am (UTC)Posted by:smokedout
[He takes the cigarette from her and holds it between his index and middle finger, as if showing off the proper technique.]
I'm a fan of keeping my thoughts to myself.
[He takes a longs drag, burning it nearly to the filter, before leaning forward to breathe the smoke in her face as he speaks. Their lips are barely an inch apart, although he'll be leaning back to smoke again if she tries to close the gap.]
Date/Time: 7/23/19 11:11 am (UTC)Posted by:smokedout
That was a bribe for learning how I know him. Power sets are a little more expensive. [He does lean back, then, although he keeps grinning lazily at her.] It was good, though. Wouldn't mind coming back if you get your hands on more.
[It's been really itching at him that he's cut off from his main fixes - it just isn't worth it to steal when Max keeps such a close watch out for him.]
Fine. What sort of bribe are you looking for. I doubt Max is going to let me get you a supply of liquor since our last conversation had been public. [She enjoys Dodger for what he is but she isn't going to risk Max's ire. She rather likes the gruff man.]
Date/Time: 7/24/19 02:19 am (UTC)Posted by:smokedout
[The smile slides off of his face, and he cocks his head a bit. He guesses he's hit a boundary, but they'd been having fun before. There's no point in taking things seriously, with a girl like her.]
Relax. I can handle Tinder - he said himself he can't kill me for good.
[It's a sore spot, though. Tinder is more powerful than most of the people he's rubbed up against before, and he doesn't like feeling powerless. For a moment he might even look hesitant.]
Date/Time: 7/24/19 02:39 am (UTC)Posted by:blindpuppet
[Enis exhales a soft huff. She misses her whiskey but really that's her own fault for inviting him over in the first place.]
Does that mean you want whiskey? [She looks curious but uncertain. She isn't sure what Dodger is really looking for and so far all of her guesses have been wrong.]
What is it really Dodger?
What do you want? [From her or in general. She'd take any answer because Dodger really isn't like anyone else she's ever met.]
Date/Time: 7/24/19 11:54 am (UTC)Posted by:smokedout
[That's a tough question, and for a moment he wonders if she deserves an honest answer. She's been a positive influence in his life, and that's a rare find, but she's just useful. She isn't important and she certainly isn't someone he wants to be emotionally close to. It just isn't worth it to let someone in on that, and Dodger has been burned enough times not to risk it for a pretty face.]
His powerset isn't worth what I want. We'll find another deal for that later.
[It implies he has a plan, when really he's been searching for one since he got here. Loki seemed like a prospect, but he's lost interest in the man and Loki doesn't seem keen to get the attention back on himself. If push comes to shove, he might have to settle for taking orders from Ivar.]
How about this - you tell me what you're capable of, and I'll tell you what he's capable of. Equal exchange for equal goods.
[He needs to pull this conversation back into terms he's comfortable with - information exchange, secret-keeping, and toying with others.]
[Enis reaches forward and lightly runs the tips of her fingers from Dodger's elbow down to his wrist.] That is a fair trade. [She won't tell him everything because he had phrased his question poorly but she will answer him.] I was human, once. Now I am have both hardware and software in my body that allows me to heal faster, replicating my cells perfectly.
[She won't die from natural means.]
I have heightened physical attributes as well but I have never tested it's full range. [Enis is stopping the change that will make her truly dangerous and entirely in-human.] I have mastered computer science and hardware. I do not claim to be an inventor but I can build or program anything.
My last skill and one that you might find interesting is a mixture of chemistry and biology. [She's a lot better at chemistry but she doesn't think that Dodger cares.] I saw the marks on your arm before. I can create a drug using legal components that will be unlike anything you've experienced before.
[She's created a similar toxic that's currently holding back her change.]
It could even use the natural heat in your body to alter it's state. If I get the compound correct. [She lightly taps the pad of her finger against his wrist.] Your turn.
[There's a moment, as her fingers brush over the wraps on his forearms, that he tenses visibly. Her voice seems to fade out for a moment, but he blinks back into reality and tries not to call too much attention to the discomfort. His eyes are fixed on her hands, as if expecting her to hurt him.]
That's hard to imagine... I've tried a lot of things.
[Saturn's Blood comes to mind. A cocktail of blood, alcohol, drugs and whatever else Arzial cooked up in his twisted little head, that devoured chunks of time from the drinker's mind and left them at the mercy of fate.
When she taps his wrist, he pulls his hand back and places it pointedly in his lap.]
In my world we draw a line between humans and mutants. They're the same species, but they're not the same thing. Knowing someone's status is a bargaining chip to someone like me - it can mean the end of someone's life if they're found out.
[Not that Jason had much of a life to speak of, before Augustine picked him up.]
Stevenson's got frost powers. His body's cold, he can make it colder - he can make frost appear around him, or make the room into a refrigerator. Last I remember about him, I was trying to show him how to make icicles in his hands, but it's not exactly my area of expertise.
[It isn't like frost mutants are crawling out of the woodworks to work in weapon production.]
He can turn invisible, too. Can still hear, touch, smell him, [taste him] but can't see him. He's a clumsy fuck, though, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I've seen people with better control of powers like his - he could be real dangerous with some work, but he's not much right now. He's, ah... rough around the edges.
Date/Time: 7/25/19 12:13 am (UTC)Posted by:blindpuppet
You should try me.
[It sounds more sexual than she had originally meant it but Enis doesn't correct herself. Dodger is confusing but he's a known entity. She trusts him to be himself and that's enough. It isn't really trust but Dodger will always be unpredictable and detached and Enis is comfortable with that.
She leans forward and flashes him a brief smile before leaning back and draping a leg across his thighs.]
I might be able to help him.
Counter to you, I get ice. [There is more to it than that but Enis isn't getting into her fathers work. Hopefully he'd been asleep when the memory had played over the network.][The flirting and innuendos will never stop.]
[There's a slight pause before he lets out a quiet, rough laugh.]
I have tried you.
[His hand moves idly up her leg, before just as casually lifting her up and placing her properly on his lap, straddling him. His fingers stray around to her lower back - there isn't a single scar on her body, and yet his mark is still there. The pads of his fingers trace the shape, so familiar after branding half the people in the city back home.]
Whatever you do with Stevenson is your own prerogative. Our boss isn't here, once he's done being a dog he'll stop being my business.
[Enis rolls her eyes a second before Dodger pulls her into his lap. She doesn't know about the brand on her lower back but she feels the tips of her fingers glide against sensitive skin and shivers.
It's really annoying how much her body enjoys his touch...]
Huh. [She hums the word in an unconvinced tone.] Then I'll do whatever I want to him.
[Maybe she's just trying to get a rise out of Dodger, it's hard to say. She sits comfortably on his lap, letting her arms drape over his shoulders.]
