Answer the following questions in 800+ words put together...
Is this character an OC or AU set in a canon world? If so, which canon?: This is an Original Character.
Which canon point?: N/A
If not, describe their world. This includes things like whether the world has magic or technology, what sort of culture your character comes from, the relative era in which it is set, etc.:
Enis grew up and lives in the city. She is from Earth though the year is closer to 2554. She is in an era of technology though like any city there are the poor and the rich. She lives on the poorer side of town after disowning her father and lives in relative piece. She doesn't own much on her own and her apartment is falling apart.
Her world has seen several more wars and there are parts of the planet that are unlivable due to nuclear bombings. Since then people just try to survive with what they are given. The government doesn't really do much for those in the poorer section and disregards their existence completely.
In short it's a great place to hide.
Character's background (their past and present, including applicable events in other games you may have played them in):
Enis's mother died in childbirth but she had a happy life with her father. When she was 7 her father remarried a wealthy political woman who had a son from a previous marriage. Enis never met them but she would wait on those weeks that her father went to visit his other family. She stayed in his lab having a room there that was all her own. Her father ran tests on her telling her that she was sick.
When she was ten her father was prosecuted for human testing and experimentation. They didn't know what to do with the young girl who was confirmed as being his daughter. In a panic Enis runs following the ghost of a dog that lead her away from the police and into the lower sections of the city. She was picked up by a woman after finding a place on the streets to huddle into a cold wet ball.
As long as she worked she had a place to live. She did a lot of different things, some of which she wasn't proud of. When she turned 16 she joined the 'family business' and found it distasteful. It took her time but she worked and saved enough money to get a place of her own and work as a waitress at a local dinner. The people treat her well though there are shadows of her past that sometimes haunt her.
Enis goes to the park on her free days and plays music with the basic equipment she has been able to clean up and put together. She makes some music that way though it's always a hassle to put on her nicest clothes and head up to the upper section for these small concerts. She is no one until the day her father is released and comes looking for her. The records within the city note her as being dead.
Character's personality:
Enis is usually calm. She doesn't get angry if she can help it and she's the sort to swallow her tears. She's lived a hard life but she's come out on top and she wants to follow her own path which involved doing what she wants. She is, however, easily annoyed and quick to become defensive. She will be pleasant if she thinks she can get something out of it and she isn't above using her all her assets.
She is a little awkward, not good at connecting with people on any deep level. She considers most people fueled by carnal desires and so they eat, steal, fuck and fight. She doesn't have a high opinion of those around her though she is grateful and often surprised whens he is shown kindness as if she doesn't know what to do.
Enis doesn't smile often and when she does it's in the midst of music or talking about a song. There are times her mouth runs away with her and she just keeps talking without realizing if the other person is listening or not. She is a nice person over all but the nice doesn't survive so she has covered that up with cynicism.
Character's skills/abilities/powers:
Her skills are in music and computers. While she is overly intelligent she doesn't use it per her fathers wishes. She can get into any computer system if she really wanted to and she is quick to learn. However her peoples skills lack making up for her intelligence and so she often speaks through her songs.
She doesn't have powers per-say but there is a computer chip in her head that will often give her an unfair advantage. It thinks faster than a normal human and can force her to react without knowing she is. She can only do things within her physical limit but with the chip she is able to access more of her brain and more of her latent abilities. More often than not she chooses not to.
Any special equipment your character is bringing along? This includes weaponry, magic items, etc.: Her laptop and basic mixing equipment. The computer chip in her head if that counts.
Why do you want to play this character in Ten Forward, and what do you plan to do with them?
She'd be able to interact and learn from those in Tenfwrd. It will be interesting to see how she develops and those she can connect to. She has a lot of baggage that she tries to push away and she doesn't accept herself so it would be cool her that to slowly change as she is faced with the oddities of space. Her world has space travel however she is very against it but she might warm up to it. I think it would be interesting to see her using her intelligence even though she's sworn off everything except her music.
What is your character's greatest flaw?
Her greatest flaw is the power that others hold over her. She doesn't understand social situations all the time and sometimes feels overwhelmed. She will close herself off if she feels threatened and if the chip takes over she will lose control of all of her functions. The chip is sort of a ticking timebomb and anyone who can hack into it can control her.
Describe your character's family (whether family by blood or by choice). How does your character feel about them? What did your character learn from them?
Enis didn't know her mother because she died in child birth. She doesn't know of any siblings except for half siblings which she doesn't count because she's never met them. She has a half brother who is 10 years older than her and working in the upper section of town. She doesn't believe you can love someone you've never met even if you share the same father.
She hates her father. Her father used her, left her and she believes that her mothers death was caused by her father though she doesn't have any proof. Technology was advanced enough to save the mother in child birth should there be complications and yet Enis's mother died. Her father performed the birth himself with his own team of doctors and locked up the information since.
She has a stepmother, again someone she's never met, who is alive and well. She knows that the woman is an important figure in the city but that's it. She doesn't even know their names nor does she care enough to find out. Her father's name was James Stewart. Enis's last name was taken from the woman who took her in when she was 10.
What hobbies does your character have?
Using her computer to create music and other fun sounds. She loves listening to the sounds around her even if its idle chatter. Everything can be combined and formed to make the perfect sound. She usually always has her headphones and laptop with her.
Your character wakes up in the middle of the night in panic from a nightmare. What was the nightmare?
It would be of her father. At a young age he used her and integrated the chip into her mind to create a new type of human. He was a brilliant scientist but once the government found out about his human testing he was sent to jail. Enis escaped with her memories lost at the age of 10 in the lower parts of the city. As her memories returned she began looking over her shoulder for the police or her father.
Writing Sample #1:
This was the last thing she had been expecting. The first thing she did was check her bag to make sure she still had her equipment. It was just the bare minimum of her things but it was enough for what she had in mind that day. She had been heading to the park to see if she could pick up a little bit of extra cash. Anything helped when you lived alone in a mostly empty apartment in the middle of a broken city and then spent all of your free funds on computers and mixers.
Enis sighed softly, happy to see that her things were still with her.
Her eyes were bright blue and her dark hair fell loosely around her shoulders in messy waves. Her palm pushed at her forehead as a confused expression colored her features. Where the hell was she? Her eyes flicked over towards the windows. Space. Well that was answered at least.
"Damn."
Enis moved over towards an empty table, her footsteps almost silent as she moved. She hadn't noticed she was moving so gracefully until the small puppy appeared next to her ankles. She looked down at him curiously; had she called him? His fur was gray and if it wasn't for the occasional disappearing and reappearing he'd look like a normal little wolf pup.
"I didn't call you."
Her voice was only a whisper as she places her things across an empty table. The pup disappeared and then reappeared on top of the table rolling on his back as she went through and set up some of her things. She heard the pup buzzing in her thoughts but she quickly shut it out. She didn't want her current situation to upset her but that was obviously not working. Otherwise that annoying little puppy wouldn't be staring at her from the table with a worried gaze.
